Have you ever wanted to get a globally recognised certificate in wine? Well now’s your chance with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 certification. This course is perfect for beginners or anyone with beginner-level knowledge of wine
The Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) has been in operation since 1969 and is the global leader in wine education. WSET Level 1 is for those new to the study of wine, this qualification explores the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately and make food and wine pairings.
What you’ll learn
- The main types and styles of wine
- Common wine grapes and their characteristics
- How to store and serve wine
- The principles of food and wine pairing
- How to describe wine using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully complete a 30-question multiple-choice question paper.
Course Cost – $360
Course Details
Duration: 9am – 5pm with breaks for morning tea, lunch, and afternoon break. All food is included in the ticket price.
Exam Details
The exam takes place in the last hour of the course. The exam consists of 30 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 45 minutes. To pass you must correctly answer 70% of the questions. This qualification is Ofqual regulated.
About Your Instructor
Adam Collet has been in the wine industry for over 15 years in every capacity you can imagine. Adam’s passion now is to teach and he’s been operating the School of Wine since 2017. Most of the class offerings are in the CBD and he is very excited to get back to offer this class in the northern suburbs!
